RTLS (REAL-TIME LOCATION SYSTEMS):
Our RTLS solutions include nodes/anchors, and transponders/beacons that operate using UWB (Ultra Wide Band technology, IEEE 802.15.42). This enables highly precise localization and tracking of objects or people in real time.
The Kathrein RTLS Platform (K-RTLS) offers a variety of different measurement methods, each of which can be ideally configured for your application. The different methods "Angle of Arrival" (AoA), "Time of Flight" (ToF) and "Time Difference of Arrival" (TDoA) each differ in speed, precision, energy efficiency and outdoor capability.
SOFTWARE:
Our advanced software CrossTalk Software Suite enables seamless integration and management of your wireless systems. It provides powerful tools for data analysis, reporting and optimization of your processes.
Our approach to delivering OEM solutions follows a structured process consisting of five main phases:
1. Evaluation
In this phase, we evaluate your specific requirements and goals to gain a clear understanding of the product to be developed.
2. Conceptual design
Based on the evaluation, we develop a detailed concept for the OEM solution that covers all aspects of the product, from functionality to design.
3. Simulation - (Virtual) Proof of Concept
In addition to the physical proof of concept, Kathrein Solutions offers a virtual proof of concept using complex simulation software. All project data determined in an initial workshop are entered into the radio propagation modeling and simulation tool. 4. Development
Our experienced engineers and technicians put the concept into practice and develop a high-quality product that meets your specific requirements. We use state-of-the-art EM simulation tools and measurement capabilities to ensure our products perform optimally. Our expertise includes the development of RFID and RTLS systems as well as custom transponders.
5. Serialization and production
After development and extensive testing, we ensure that the product is ready for mass production. We produce samples, perform measurements and compare them with the simulations to validate the performance in the real environment. You will then receive the orders we produce.

Corratec e-bike tracker
The case study highlights the innovative collaboration between IKO Sportartikel Handels GmbH and KATHREIN Solutions. The aim was to develop an efficient and cost-effective alternative to conventional, energy-intensive GPS tracking systems. IKO found the solution by integrating the tracker into the Apple Find My network, which enables e-bike owners to locate their bike easily and intuitively via their smartphone. KATHREIN Solutions contributed significantly to the success of the project with a specially developed antenna by taking over the technical communication and fulfillment of the Apple specifications.

Axess AG:
Kathrein Solutions has collaborated with Axess AG to reduce waiting times at the entrances. The solution from Kathrein Solutions is based on UHF RFID technology and Bluetooth (BLE) and enables ski passes and tickets to be scanned on smartphones at the gate.
