The challenge

Evopark is a young start-up company, but has already won a number of awards. With its expertise, creativity and dedication, it has redefined the everyday parking garage experience. Using state-of-the-art technology, it creates innovative services such as the automatic opening of parking garage barriers with a contactless parking ticket. Kathrein supplies the RFID system for integration at the barriers.

Initial situation

The search for a parking space accounts for almost 30 percent of city traffic. At the same time, there are many empty parking spaces in multi-storey parking lots. evopark addresses this potential and offers attractive and innovative parking services. The evopark app displays empty parking spaces in the cooperating parking garages and cities and offers direct route navigation to reach them on request. With the contactless parking ticket, evopark offers an additional service that saves customers a significant amount of time. Kathrein supported the young entrepreneurs with the integration of the RFID system at the parking garage barriers.

Solution

The parking garages cooperating with evopark were equipped with Kathrein RFID ARU reading systems. The evopark application was fully integrated into the parking garage systems with interface connections. Thanks to the UHF RFID technology in the parking ticket, drivers now enjoy maximum simplicity. Driving in and out is convenient and fast, as the barriers react automatically to the integrated RFID chip. The smart per-minute charging system works in the background to calculate the cost of parking.

Result

evopark was able to significantly increase customer satisfaction with the introduction of RFID technology. Drivers no longer have to queue at ticket machines or search for change. There is also less risk of losing the parking ticket as you can simply leave it in the car. Bills are conveniently issued at the end of the month. Added to this are the savings in operating costs for the parking garage operators.
