Anton Kathrein and KATHREIN SE open a new chapter in the company's history

 

• Grandson of the founder takes over entrepreneurial responsibility

Anton Kathrein will assume entrepreneurial responsibility at KATHREIN SE. This marks the beginning of a new chapter in the more than 100-year history of the family-owned company. As part of the replacement of all obligations, Anton Kathrein will initially take over as Chairman of the Supervisory Board before succeeding Harald Johanning-Meiners in the role of CEO in 2024. This will bring the transformation process of KATHREIN SE, which he and CEO Harald Johanning-Meiners helped to initiate, to a successful conclusion.

As part of the transaction, all obligations to the banking consortium under the restructuring agreement concluded in 2019 will be repaid. This is made possible by a contribution from the Kathrein family to the company and financing from Sparkasse Rosenheim-Bad Aibling. The transaction is the result of a carefully managed process under the leadership of CEO Harald Johanning-Meiners and constructive cooperation with the banking consortium, which contributed significantly to the success of the transaction. The ownership structure of KATHREIN SE remains unaffected by this step.
