CrossTalk RFID Software - Flexible intelligence for AutolD and IoT

Efficient AutolD systems for automatic object identification and data capture as well as systems for the Internet of Things (IoT) require excellent hardware and at least equally excellent AutolD and IoT software. In addition to the hardware, we offer you such a software solution: the CrossTalk Software Suite.

As with all complex systems, the perfect interaction of hardware and software is of the utmost importance. CrossTalk fulfills this requirement to the highest degree and simplifies the implementation of a wide range of RAIN RFID customer requirements and solution requests without additional development effort.
CrossTalk is the easiest way to a perfect AutoID solution. It supports partners and customers from PoC (proof of concept) to global roll-out with secure and reliable 24/7 operation of the physical AutoID layer.
CrossTalk's agent-based architecture supports the operation of several thousand devices of different technologies in a distributed network environment. The plug-and-play connection of a large number of devices from common AutoID manufacturers in various model versions is already integrated.

CrossTalk Agent

CrossTalk Agent Edgeware is based on Java and can therefore run on a wide variety of platforms. Each agent receives its individual functionality once from a central CrossTalk server instance. The agent, which in the best case is operated directly on the device, takes over its process activity completely independently of this server instance from this point on. The CrossTalk server is then only responsible for monitoring the agents in the background. This decentralized distribution of the process functionality to the CrossTalk agents enables maximum reliability of the AutoID reading points. With a large number of existing data structure and communication adapters, many of which are in productive use, it is possible to quickly and reliably supply a wide variety of backend systems with valid business events.

Core tasks of edgeware:

  • Simple device integration from a wide range of AutoID manufacturers
  • Processing of real-time raw data
  • Intelligent filtering of raw data
  • Creation of business events and dispatch to the backend system
  • CrossTalk Server

The central server instance can be operated both "on premise" and in a cloud. All that is required is a Java application server and a standard SQL database. The device management application on the server enables complete control of the AutoID landscape with devices from a wide range of manufacturers.

    Device Management Application

The device management application on the server enables complete control of the AutoID landscape with devices from a wide range of manufacturers.

    Core tasks of device management:
    • Organization and configuration of all CrossTalk agents
    • Monitoring and analysis option for all function modules in running processes on the agents
    • Design of process templates using a large number of existing function modules without programming effort in a graphical "no-code" designer
    • Central distribution of updates (driver layer and function blocks)
    • Simple roll-out of a large number of agents and their processes based on the process templates already created
    • Central alerting of maintenance teams if a function module within the agent's processes reports an error (central Health REST API, e-mail)

    CrossTalk RTLS

    CrossTalk Agent

    • Runs on a local IPC or PC
    • Configuration of node and tag
    • Calculation of the tag position using the measurement data of the nodes
    • Filtering and buffering of tag position data

    CrossTalk Server

    • Visual zone editor
    • Geo-localization and geo-fencing
    • Repository for the RTLS device configuration
    • Monitoring the devices and function blocks
    • Zone allocation results are sent directly to the business backend
    • Many ready-to-use interface adapters available

    RTLS infrastructure application

The RTLS infrastructure application on the server is the link between the physical AutoID device layer and the business logic of the backend system.

    • Creates any location hierarchy using location, area and zone elements
    • Visual objects in geo-based and layout-based maps
    • Visual standard editor for loading and calibrating maps, drawing and moving zones
    • Defines the tolerance of zone boundaries and geo-fencing to prevent unwanted zone changes
    • Handles localization events of active RTLS systems and passive RFID solutions
    • Defines fixed reading points as positioning markers and gate movements (RFID)
    • Forwards logical localization results as business events to other apps or backend systems

    CrossTalk EPCIS repository

The CrossTalk EPCIS repository is a highly scalable data repository for IoT events. It is compatible with the EPC and ISO-certified EPCIS standard. Various database engines such as SQL databases, NoSQL databases and SAP HANA can be used for data storage to meet enterprise standards and high performance requirements.

    CrossTalk Mobile

With our Mobile Application Framework (MAF), we can provide various mobile applications:

    • Full support for Android mobile devices
    • Simple device migration
    • Access to existing modules
    • Realization of smaller desktop or industrial terminal PC applications
    • In addition to the MAF, native iOS application development is also possible

    CrossTalk service contract

With the maintenance and 3rd level support services for our CrossTalk software, you can work with us to make your operations run much more smoothly.

    The core services relate to:

    • access to the latest update and upgrade versions for CrossTalk Server, Agent and associated solution modules
    • the provision of security-relevant updates (patches)
    • support in the event of a fault via our ticket system with a direct contact person.
    • Activation and use of the CrossTalk Quality app for analysis purposes

The costs (monthly or annual) are based on the number of CrossTalk licenses purchased within your server environment and are offered separately by us. For the initial contract in connection with the first purchase of licenses, for the renewal as a separate offer per period.
