Efficient Intra Logistics Processes with RFID-Tagged Load Carriers

The basis for system-controlled support for all processes in real time.

Increasing productivity (80 percent), meeting deadlines (73 percent), better planning (34 percent) – this is how 121 surveyed specialists and managers describe the current logistical challenges. One solution: continuous tracking of RFID-tagged load carriers along the entire value chain. Reserved and free capacities can be viewed at a glance and new orders can be allocated promptly. Search times are eliminated and costly extra stocks are eliminated. By "marrying" material and container ID, the transported material is tracked and automatically booked per customer.

Correct and just-in-time delivery to the customer.

At the point of goods issue, plausibility checks ensure that the goods are loaded onto the designated truck.

Transparent Just-in-Time Deliveries
In the goods receiving area, delivered goods are reloaded onto their own RFID-tagged load carriers or repacked into KLTS. The "marriage" of load carriers and material data ensures automatic material flow bookings. The goods movements in the warehouse are booked via container ID. With RFID handhelds, an exact booking can also be made at storage location level, such as shelf or compartment number. Plausibility checks verify whether the delivered goods correspond to the desired order and whether batch and quantity match. The identification and booking of finished goods into the finished goods warehouse ensure ontime delivery. At goods issue, plausibility checks ensure that the goods are loaded onto the designated truck. A comparison with the order takes place via the loading control using RFID gates. Error-free loading and material flow booking is carried out automatically and without unscheduled staff time.

Quality Assurance at Every Stage of Production
At the first production stage, the empty container is registered via RFID. The container ID is 'married' with the material and production data. The container is then controlled according to the production order. Optionally, forklift guidance systems or driverless transport systems can be integrated. The complete delivery is guided error-free and on time to the respective production stage. RFID capture takes place at each production stage. Material and production step are checked for conformance. The production machine is then authorized. The RFID-tagged load carrier is loaded. The material and production data are "married" with the container ID. Plausibility checks and bookings are carried out when the material is delivered. The process is repeated at each production stage for quality assurance. The continuous and plausible data flow secures production processes and ensures error-free just-in-time deliveries.
